Nickel-Electro is a wholly independent, family owned company, based in the South West of England. They design and manufacture the well known Clifton Range of temperature control equipment and instrumentation, which includes unstirred, stirred, shaking baths, digital hotplates and the innovative Duobaths.


Clifton Unstirred Water Baths
Clifton analogue and digital unstirred water baths are designed for education and general laboratory use. They are economically priced without compromising quality.
Comprising of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable painted outer case. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance.
The heaters and temperature sensors are concealed under the tank providing a clutter free working area which makes it easy to wipe and clean.
Analogue Unstirred Water Baths
Easy to use analogue dial pointer for setting temperature, graduated in 5°C increments.
Digital Unstirred Water Baths
Digital water baths have push buttons for setting values. Temperatures can be easily and rapidly set with the push button, wipe clean control panel, featuring a bold LED display.

The NE1 series Clifton analogue thermostatic baths offer reliable, economical performance without compromising quality.

Clifton Stirred and Circulating Water Baths
Clifton analogue and digital stirred baths provide a stable temperature environment ideal for meeting quality control requirements. Designed for immersion of flasks, bottles and racks for a wide variety of laboratory applications.
Clifton digital water and oil circulators are designed for external circulation of temperature controlled water and heat transfer fluids in a closed circuit.
Both stirred and circulating baths comprise of a high quality corrosion resistant stainless steel tank, with a bright clean finish housed in a durable painted outer case with non slip rubber feet. Painted surfaces feature anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance.
Analogue Stirred Water Baths
Analogue baths have an easy to use dial pointer for setting temperature, graduated in 5°C increments. When low liquid is detected heating is suspended and a warning indicator is visible.
Digital Stirred Water Baths
Temperatures can be easily and rapidly set with the push button, wipe clean control panel, featuring a bold LED display. The high precision PID temperature controller ensures that uniformity and sensitivity is guaranteed.

Clifton NE4-SB features a digital PID temperature controller which provides even water circulation and temperature stability. Designed to be fully compatible and easy to fit onto an array of tanks and vessels (rectangular or circular) with a diameter 30cm or more.
Featuring a low-level float device, which ensures heating is switched off if the liquid falls below the recommended level.

Boiling Baths
All Clifton boiling baths feature an integral constant level device to maintain constant water level during operation. On rectangular baths, the constant water level device has a visible water spout for checking water flow.
There are three styles in the range of Clifton boiling baths, designed for applications that require continuous boiling and for gentle heating of samples in steam.

This range of boiling baths has been enhanced to include drain tap and clear lift off lid. Designed for applications that require continuous boiling. This bath also has the flexibility where the control can be regulated from a gentle simmer to a vigorous boil.
Comprising of a stainless steel tank housed in a durable paint finished outer case. Painted surfaces feature a tough anti-bacterial finish with good chemical resistance. Complete with a removable stainless steel perforated false base. The bath, which is simmer-statically controlled, is ideally suited to prolonged periods of boiling.
Fitted with a sheathed immersion element. With the heater directly immersed in water it provides rapid boiling. A standard feature is a constant level device, which maintains a fixed level of liquid thereby eliminating the need to regularly top up the bath.

Shaking water bath, featuring analogue temperature and shaking speed control, available with a broad range of accessory trays, flask clips and racks ensures flexibility for routine and specialised incubations.
Accessory clips and racks can be mounted onto the perforated shelf which fits onto reciprocating stainless steel trolley. Flasks and test tube racks can easily be loaded and unloaded, lifting out the complete shelf. The trolley can also easily be removed for cleaning. The perforated tray is supplied as standard.
Shaking system is quiet in use and by removing the trolley and replacing with the perforated tray, it can be used as a standard laboratory bath.
The shaker trolley is stable in use, with a removable perforated shelf, unlike many traditional shaker baths where the whole shaker carriage has to be removed for loading and unloading.
Clifton shaking baths features a useful stainless steel recessed tray for standing flasks on prior to and after immersion.

Ultrasonic Baths
These industrial strength ultrasonic baths are designed for demanding applications and suitable for continuous operation. The baths are also ideal for cleaning delicate or fragile components which may otherwise be damaged by mechanical cleaning.
The baths are available from 1 to 30 litres capacity and feature a eco and dynamic sonic mode. Eco offers quieter gentler ultrasonic activity whilst dynamic running provides vigorous cleaning.
The touch pad, wipe clean, control panel with rotary dials for time and temperature, can be set between 30°C and 80°C in 5°C increments. The timer can be selected to operate between 1-30 minutes or continuously up to 6 hours.
Clifton ultrasonics baths are constructed from high quality stainless steel for durability, with side lifting handles on models 3 litres upwards for easy transportation.

Hotplates
Analogue or Digital

Analogue hotplates feature a generous working area, thermostatically controlled, with an illuminated on/off switch, heater and hot warning indicator.
Featuring a hob surface, which is solid aluminium, 12mm thick for excellent thermal properties and uniform heat distribution over its working area. This overlaps the body to ensure that no spillages enter the controls.
Painted surfaces and the control panel have an antibacterial protection which is chemical resistant and is wipe clean. Hob temperature can be adjusted using the control dial.

Mixers

Heavy duty, MXS-10 roller mixer for vials, small bottles, and test tubes of various sizes. Durable design for mixing solid and liquid suspensions and viscous liquids, featuring sprocket and chain drive, coupled with ball race roller mountings for smooth trouble free operation. It can run continuously for many hours unattended.
Ten coated aluminium rollers run parallel to create a smooth rolling action without tilt between 10 and 60 rpm.

Digital Lab Ovens
Clifton lab ovens feature intuitive easy to use controls with a bold illuminated LED display, offering precise temperature control from ambient +5°C to 300°C with timer functions.
These lab ovens can run at set temperature immediately, use run back timer or enable a delay start feature. Can be configured for gravity convection or with variable fan speed providing forced air circulation within the chamber.
The oven chamber is constructed from high quality stainless steel with high efficiency thermal insulation, contained within an outer steel housing with anti-bacterial paint finish.
With energy efficiency in mind, particular attention is paid to robust design, insulation, a tight door closure with silicone seal and hinge design to maintain chamber temperatures with intelligent temperature control.

DC1-300 Immersion Cooler
Designed to be used in conjunction with a Clifton stirred or circulating water bath, the DC1-300 features a flexible 900mm long pipe. When placed through the aperture on the top of the bridge unit the stainless steel cooling coil naturally stands in the corner of any Clifton NE4 (Not NE4T Range) stirred or circulating water bath. This maximises the working area within the bath.
The immersion cooler runs continuous counter cooling with the bath providing temperature control from ambient to -20°C (subject to bath capacity). Always cover the water bath with a lid or BP0368 polypropylene spheres. This reduces energy loss by up to 70%.
The immersion cooler is not suitable for use with unstirred water baths.

Koch Steam Sterilisers
This Koch steam steriliser electrically heats water and the steam produced, disinfects small unwrapped instruments and other non-porous equipment.
Featuring double skinned walled chamber for insulation purposes with removable shelves for ease of loading. The lid is designed to ensure condensed steam runs back into the chamber. Lifting handles on both the unit and lid which features an 18mm diameter thermometer/thermocouple entry port.
For water level control the Koch steriliser has a filling port and water level indication in an external reservoir. Connect laboratory tubing to filling port and a water supply and adjust the water flow to gently top up the water level to maintain boiling.
This unit is not intended for sterilisation of equipment used in clinical care of patients.

Bath Armor™
Bath Armor™ also known as bath beads, are moisture and gas impermeable, with high thermal conductivity. Smooth and rounded beads that replace water.
Designed for unstirred water baths. Not suitable for NE1D.
