Sensorex pH Lab Sensors

pH, commonly used for water measurements, is a measure of acidity and alkalinity, or the caustic and base present in a given solution. It is generally expressed with a numeric scale ranging from 0-14. The value 7 represents neutrality. The numbers on the scale increase with increasing alkalinity, while the numbers on the scale decrease with increasing acidity.

Each unit of change represents a tenfold change in acidity or alkalinity. The pH value is also equal to the negative logarithm of the hydrogen-ion concentration or hydrogen-ion activity. pH values for some common solutions are listed in the table to the right.

Agar plates, skin, and electrophoresis gels are all surfaces that may be difficult to measure with a typical pH glass bulb due to concerns about breakage. pH Detector Kit for HPLC, FIA, IEF

The pH Detectors are designed for use with a variety of instrumental techniques such as FIA, HPLC and IEF and are also used to continuously monitor the pH of low volume flows in bench scale chemical systems. The pH detector system is specially designed to achieve ultra fast response times. A flat surface pH electrode (S450CD) located at the top of the flow cavity allows for very low internal volumes. The resulting rectangular cross-section flow path has no protruding parts which could interfere with a clean sweeping flow.

Replacement 3-in-1 pH/Reference/Temperature Electrodes

Finding 3-in-1 electrodes for older meters can be a challenge. Sensorex 3-in-1 combination electrodes are excellent choices for applications requiring pH, reference, and automatic temperature compensation (ATC).
